living hard and fast

since the age of 8 ive done more than most can realize
being able to run free not having a rule or a leash
coming home when i please and knowing they are asleep
so joining a gang and making them my family
they taught me how to work the streets
i learned hard and fast shooting guns and being mean
going to jail and graduating from prison
hurting people i didnt know getting respect all the wrong way
rising in the ranks of true dishatred within myself
and not giving a shit of who i put six feet down
so what is my purpose to be living this way
in so much dissmay and tragedy
having a place to lay my head instead of a dumpster
in an alley way
so i can say ive seen and done everything good and bad
ive lived hard and fast
but i didnt have to experince all that
if only i had a mom and dad

I am stunned speechless. Thank you for sharing this poem of incredible "street" experiences with all of us. There IS more power in love, as you've pointed out here. Unfortunately, there really doesn't seem to be enough of it to go around. I'm wishing you all the best. Take care, and keep it flowing...
    Peace,
    Cyn

    Awwwww my god
this is heartbreaking, and the last line just makes it so sadd
You've said your entire story here but the last line really brings an entirely different scenario which is devastating to know. Definitely feel for you, Great work and well done!
