An Angel's Heart

The embers of her heart
faintly glowing,
yet fading rapidly
awaiting the warm breath of
the soul kiss
from her one true love
that will reignite the fire of passion
before her soul grows eternally cold
she waits for a companion
a saviour of sorts
and looks upon the earth as though hopeless
Yet there is a faint hopeful glow set in her eyes
and she wraps her wings around her body
For warmth
For protection from the coldness she feels
she smiles as she sees one man
she does not know he is the one to renew her hope
only sees him as a dear friend
He reignites the hope
the passion once felt deep in her heart
and she knows though she is alone for now
She will find someone one day
but for now, she must love herself.

Author notes

This was a collabrative poem between Jon and I (God of thunder) The first half of the poem if from him, the second from me. Please tell us with honesty and unbiased what you think and how it made you feel. We would both love to see what everyone thinks of it.

What did you think of my imagery, is there anything about this poem you would change?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

Jetta and Jon well done You have the makings of a very beautiful poem here. Some nice imagery but I would cut down the line length a little in places to give it a better flow, just tweak and tighten it a little.
