even in daylight hours
he, prowling the horizon, scans for eyes
seeking the blessings of other stars
oh, crude one
you are not a star
just a big ball of dust and dreams
how many fairy tales have called you hero?
you chubby puff of solar scrapings
if not for poets and their lovesick pens
how would you even enter a lexicon worth any meaning?
but I shouldn't be the one to berate
for you have given me lines to set hearts to swoon
oh you silly, jealous moon!

Ha this is just wonderful! The reality and the fantasy! I really love how you have woven these words. Don't we all put that moon 'pon a pedestal
