Broken Halos

Heaven heard their angel cry
her halo fell apart
He broke her wings now she can't fly
with a broken heart

She used to smile at everyone
a joy to be around
She tries to hide the pain he's done
her eyes look to the ground

Not one word now when we meet
we always used to talk
Now in the church's an empty seat
he made her leave the flock

It's sad to watch her waste away
I know someday I' ll cry
The angels took her home today
from the man who let her die
