This Face Called Fear

So many thoughts in my head.
Can't find the words
To express my regret.
So many secrets
That need to be said.
I want you to understand
All that I know.
All the feelings I get.

I'll never forget
Those nights I spent alone.
Talking on the phone.
Trying to stay calm
When everything felt so wrong.
Scared for my life.
My family's life.

Why did I get wrapped up
In such a dangerous game?
Was it worth the pain?!?!
I feel them watching me.
Just waiting
for me to slip up
for a chance to take me.
Every shadow I see
Has a face I know.
This face called fear.

I'm tired of running
Of being quiet.
But if I tell you,
Then I add a name
To their game
And their never ending list of "fame".
But I won't let you understand
The secrets I have.
I have to keep you safe.
Until we find a better place.

    My

Almosr reads like a real life danger poet. But to me your words could reach into a deeper story of suspence and intrigue. Amazing though what the poets mind can conjure up at times. Well penned poet.
