Leo it's been years since I seen your beautiful furry face
I wish you were still with me tonight

I still remember when
I was a little girl you were
Just my imagnation and
Then mommy decided to get a dog and
That's when you came and
I called you "Leo"
I miss you...
I will never forget the memories we shared together
You'll always be in my heart but
I know you're in a better place now...

Aww man that's so sad... A dog can be as much a companion and friend as a person can and in some ways more so... The innocence and trust that a pet shows you is so honest and pure and you sum that up so well in your soliloquy... Unless it's like my terrapins and tries to savage you when you hold them :/ I love the last line the most... "You'll always be in my heart but I know you're in a better place now..." It's so selfless and mature to let go knowing that while it may make you sad... you know that your friend is happy.

Thank you so much for your kind words Ben. I really do miss Leo. Yes honesty and trust is what a good pet shows. I had a strong bond with him as a little girl. Now that he's gone I sometimes feel alone. Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you like my write and that it touched your heart in a way.

Aww this is so sad. I'm a sucker for sad dog poems and stories. It almost brought me to tears. This is great you show so much love for your dog Leo in this. It's beautiful. I had my dog die a couple years back, but my dog will always remain in my thoughts and memories like Leo will in yours. Great Poem.
