Glory of Words Forgotten

Swiftly the command of words transforms into lines
Lines that travel up and down, through and out
They form things that aren't of this world
Insightful yet deadly with their level of horror
But it is not horror alone that shifts this place
The words write of long lost love
And the horror it's self in knowing it is lost
Like dark red velvet curtains long since rotten
Falling from their rod while clinging to the broken window
Fate created each little line
Each little crack that is steeped with chill
All of these things work for winter
Bringing the ice inside while the words work still
There are howls, of wind or wolves it's hard to tell
But the beast would be kinder
Anything is kinder than the breath of cold
And it's able to touch, to come in
All because of that cracked window
And on that window those thread bare curtains hang
Still trying to remain in the place words once put them
But as time goes on and words forgot
Those curtains strain and rip
With a dying scream of a tear the light floods in
Steeping the room in brilliance
But it is still a brilliance long since forgotten
The room is a former glory
The remains of love once told by the words
Seen through the old pictures and gold
But those pictures are like the window
Cracked and broken, askew faces stare back
The gold is old and tarnished
Nothing anyone would possibly want now
The words have forgotten this room
As the horror of lost love creaks within
A silent shadow that is more lost than searching
Defeat is left from it's claws
Scratching at the old room to relieve pain
It cannot speak just like the room
Both are tied now from one realm to the next
And it's not that the words have escaped them
Its that the words have forgotten
The room and its shadow look through the broken window
Past the rotting velveteen red
Watching hopelessly as the sun goes down
Leaving them to night once more
The words have still forgotten
Glory to the room
Glory to the shadow
Glory to the room full of shadows
And glory to all who words have forgotten.
