Winding pond swirling around each bend
Sitting and visiting with someone you love
Watching the water as it flow
Holding hands walking along
Quietly talking like a song whispering to the wind
Speaking a song of
I LOVE YOU
I NEED YOU
I WANT YOU
A blanket is lay on the ground
Looking to see if anyone else is around
Kissing and whispering sweet nothing
They realize someone standing next to them
As they clear theirs throat
You jump up and gather your wits
Only to see Mother Dear
Young man wondering where father is
While he is being fuss at by mother dear
Around the bend father
Come bearing a
Double barrel shotgun
Running like an Indian on a mission
As father raise up the gun to fire a shot
The daughter faint
Father shoots above the young man head
Father will make sure he doesn’t dare
Come to court his daughter into a lustful delight only for those who are married
As mother sit and remember those days
When her father did the same

Good write
That sounds like a fathers i know or Dads that want to make sure their daughters are safe away from people who want to take advange of them. It speak volumes in many ways. It also shows how the mother relfects on on her own life.

Loved it!!
Great imagery, fun to read! I would expect nothing less from this poet, she is witty, comical, sincere, honest, caring and most of all a friend you can count on at any time, any where. She is my sister and I love her. -

Lol.. this is funny, Sis but so real. Things used to be so different than they are now when it comes to dating and romance. Oh the feelings might be the same but does anyone know of a modern day father who would run off the boyfriend with a shotgun???
I know just how your mother felt when this happened.
I remember when I was barely 12 years old and my Dad 'caught' me and a guy sitting on a bench at a little lake resort where we lived. It was past dark but there were other people around and we were just talking. My sister ran to our cabin and told our Dad that I was 'necking' with a boy, yep that sister, our very own J aime coudre. Well, he did have his arm across the bench behind me and when my Dad saw us he only said, in his military, giving orders tone "Get home, young lady" I was totally embarrased and I think the guy must have been, too. And when he came into the cabin behind me, he sent me to bed and promised that if I ever did that again he would blister my behind. I just felt lucky and relieved that he didn't do it at the time. Needless to say, I never did anything like that again until I was older
I enjoyed this piece very much. Tell your mother that I can still sympathize with her

Hey Sis Thank you for reading.
When I saw that park with the wiinding bend. It reminded me of a love long ago. It was in Denton Texas we always had a family renunion there. Well Daddy always carried his double barrel shotfun with him when he can sneak away to go hunting. well when mother saw us walking to the park. it was one of my cousinc best freind. he came every year and we was always playing when we were little one. Anyway I fell or thought I fell in love with him at 18 and he told me he fell in love with me since met at the age of 9 yra old, we grew up and was very close. Only then if my parents hadnt show up would of been a sheer pain for me. My appendix burst open. Daddy thought I had fainted from the gun. but it wasnt. I had been in pain for three days before the renunion. they had 24 hours to get the infection down to were they could operate. mom told the doctor not to tell me im haveing surgery. Gary came to the hospital with flowers and ask my daddy to please let him see me. Daddy told him only if he doesnt try to take avantage of me. We got engage and 4 weeks before the wedding he sent me an telegram telling me he still love me only but he had gotten the general daughter pg and the wedding needed to be call off. My best freind and my parents stay with me the whole time I cry. I put my beautiful wedding dress away and gave it to the good will. I swore I would never get married. a year later I was married and almost two yrs later I was pg. the only son i ever had. He is the love of this mother eyes. he hold me up when life get me down. I held him up many many time when life dealth him a bad hand. Love come and go and you only learn from them. Thank Sis for reading my poetry
Love
Sis
