Dig a trench about this altar
And drench it with your doubt
Mockery and scorn
Won’t put God’s fire out
Jump and shout and scream
And carry on my friend
It’s all just so much steam
Makes no difference in the end
You have a thousand answers
And endless reasons why
You won’t accept the Truth
You’re strung out on the lie
But as for me I’m standing
On the promise that God made
When He sent His only Son
And my debt to hell was paid
I hope you find your bottom
And there you make the choice
To see past Satan’s lies
And listen to God’s voice
Patiently He’s calling
He wants you to be free
His whisper in your heart
Says “Come now follow Me”
(1 Kings 18:38, Matthew 11:28-30)

As always you can carry the truth with rhyme right through...It is a God given gift friend....Such an analogy the altar, fire and water...Do put in the story reference in your notes...It would be even more powerful...Bravo!

Straightforward, perceptive, and hard-hitting--truth told with powerful words, covering so many bases! The way it is! It's an attention-getting title, too, and I love how you include the word at the end of the poem. How about mentioning I Kings 18:38 in the Scripture references?
