Rhythm Of The Beast

Her beauty has no equal
Her beauty unparalleled
Her kindness is an unearthed treasure
Kindness beyond compare
I searched for a gentle heart
But found no heart, that beat so softly as hers
No heart ever beat so true
Whose language is passion
That speaks love is true
When I ponder I ponder once
When I dream I dream just once
And that dream should be no other
No greater thing do I dream
Than the one I love
If there were greater things
I could no longer ponder
If there were greater things
I could no longer wonder
What in among the mountains
Or in any golden sea
What color or sparkle rich and true
Has beauty such as she?
On her eyes I focus
Turning neither to the right nor to the left
Her smile calms the beast
Her smile uplifts the downcast
Yes, her voice, the earth has heard no greater
The resounding is without equal
No echo, or horn or flute
No morning birds or the shatter of the sea
Sheds beauty such as she
She makes rushing waters appear as streams
Crushing waves like harps
Can she tame the wild beast?
Yes, but only she
A fierce lion
Such as me

I kept reading, waiting to find out if the true love was a kitten or a hamster or a puppy. WOW! A new YOU! I love your poem and think you are onto something, here... love poems!

Beauty and the Beast? This is one of my favorite movies of all times. If this is supposed to be inspired from it, you did the movie justice

Thank you for entering and good luck!

I'm used to reading so much humor poetry from you, it's refreshing to see a poem in a different genre once in awhile. I liked the part of crushing waves like harps. The ocean waters can have a rhythm themselves sometimes. Is this based on the film "Beauty And The Beast" or did you find inspiration for this poem from something completely different?

    Good luck in the contest.
