Autumn rains come cold and hard
all the leaves are on the ground
no creatures are stirring
and there’s no birds around
The silence before the snow
it shall come very soon now
there’s so much darkness already
I’d leave but I don’t know how
I walk in my rain suit
the streets are quiet and bare
I’m feeling a little bluesy
even though I don’t really care
The cold bites on my fingers
as the rain is icy cold
it gets worse every year
I guess I’m just getting old

Ha Ha, Isn't it funny how the older you get the more aware and critical you get of each season. I can totally identify with these thoughts.
Good luck in the contest.

This sounds like me lately... literally, walking around in the cold night after the rain, troubled and trying to be indifferent, feeling like life is just slipping through my fingers. Very nice and as always good luck in the contest!
