THE TICKING OF THE CLOCK (c) Copyright 2009 by Earl F. Hubbard Jr.
(from LIFE'S BEEN GOOD TO ME coming SOON!)
Our days go by so quickly,
the minutes and the hours,
every TICK TOCK of the clock,
is filled with deadly powers.
Before the hand can move a second,
our time on earth could cease,
Calling 'NINE ONE ONE' won't help us,
to defeat the killing beast.
But if we lived a good life,
and fought the war for peace,
perhaps we'll be invited,
to the eternal feast -
to dine with all our brothers,
with our sisters and our friends,
in The Lord's Hall HIGH in heaven,
or in a garden that transcends -
anything man could imagine,
with his heart and soul and mind,
leaving all our mortal troubles,
pain and worries far behind.

Lovely and full of hope for what's to come. -

Wonderful sentiments expressed in a poem that could mean so much to so many. I however am not a beleiver in any one god but am a beleiver in many aspects of many religions. Having said that I appreciate your words and enjoyed the read. Thankyou

Time is what we all have and yet we don't have time at all. Time has us. It dictates our rising and retiring. It controls when we come and when we go. Do you have the time? Yes, we reply but we lie. Then when our times up we give ourself over to its full control. I gotta go it's time to go to sleep. Good write.

Love the poem, i think as we get older life just passes us by, thats why it is so important to do all the things we would like to, and to give and share our love that sometimes hides within, so everyone can feel the joy this brings and when we depart this life, the world we leave still sings, yes a very meaningfull poem.

I very much enjoyed this one. I believe each one of us is here to try and make the world just a bit better than it was before us, and that's our task.

Your title to this grabbed me as I'd used a similar line in an email. Your words are so true, time does pass by so quick. I think when we are younger time seems to run at a slower pace, we have a different perception of it, because we have so much of it ahead of us. It isn't until our years here are getting shorter that we realise just how quick time as actually does go and how little time we have left to accomplish all that we want. It's then we realise just how precious it is. A beautiful poem sweet, with sound advice that provokes thought. Love you Chelle xxx

When we are young we think we have all the time in the world to play with. The trouble is it's often not until we get much older that we become wise to the fact that our wordly time passes far quicker than we had realised. Do you ever remember your parents saying "the years just fly by so make the most of them." It's advice that shouldn't be ignored because most people look back and realise how little they did with their lives and how little time is left to accomplish all they want to do before they leave this place. Sound advice
