Here, in the quiet hush of room
where the scrape of a chair
falls heavy on the ear
and the echo from words silently
greet us, we search our shelves
for dreams and answers...
All around there were songs
that I didn't hear
as I danced to quiet a baby's cry,
I danced with monsters
that would scream
and sang to steady the ache.
Then one day,
after the sky had melted
and rained all its bitter truth,
after the umbilical cord was stretched
and tied my whole life up with balloons,
I saw where peace was planted.
Of course, it had been there all the time,
peace waits so patiently,
because it takes so long to see
that bright bulb's hidden treasure,
as it shines brighter then
the jealous moon.

Oh, wow, this moves one to such grief and then hope... one is aware of a deep infinite loss. It moves me to think of a mother trying to comfort a dying child... and the feelings one goes through trying to justify what caused it. Very very profound writing!

Wicked write, I love this.
"All around there were songs

I danced with monsters
that would scream
and sang to steady the ache." absolutely brilliant with your words. Keep writing!!
