The house is silent with nary a sound,
Curled in the dimness, she sits all alone.
The pain in her eyes reflects grief, profound;
Lost in her memories, she seems of stone.
There was a time when her heart was aglow,
Overflowing with joy that true love brings;
Then was the time too, that she thought she knows
That love is eternal, unwavering.
One day he said he has found someone new;
He had to leave for he loved her no more;
Holding back her tears, she bade him adieu;
Her heart died at the closing of the door.
Losing a love, even if one so brief,
Can bring upon oneself a lot of grief.

Sadness
a good, compact sonnet poet. Says much. A complete story, though sad.
