In A Kiss Beneath The Tree

 

Beneath the tree you kissed me

my dreams still lying there

Stripped of all my worries

the day you said you cared

I closed my eyes and imagined

sailing away with you

Never was love so innocent

never it felt more true

When we etched into the bark

initials of you and I

It never crossed my mind

this love would some day die

Still carved into the trunk

is my forever dream

The story we once told

in a kiss beneath the tree
