Someone, somewhere far away brushed away my tears today
I don't know him, or her, or them, but I feel compelled to say
The one who said he cried for me, the one who said she prayed
Have given me the solace that my breaking heart has craved.
They offered what they had to me, without a second thought
If I only knew any one of them, I'd give anything I've got
To give them proper accolades, for their generosity
For giving of themselves, even though they don't know me.
The loving arms that held me for a moment in my grief
Felt warm and soft and offered me a breath of sweet relief
They took the burden in their stride, it's what they seem to do
And in keeping to their chosen path, they offered me a clue...
The ways of life are a mystery, but there are those who know
How important we all can be in helping others heal and grow
I fell in love with these faraway few and I hope they all can see
Just how much those tears and prayers have come to mean to me.

This poem is so very human and beautiful. So often we just take that kindness for granted. But now as I read this I am humbled . It seems I have lost my way in the small world and now these eyes must open. Great write with a lesson. -

A very fine expression of appreciation. You have certainly expressed your thoughts quite well, and imagery; rhythm and rhyme are just fine. Thanks for sharing.

This is a fine dedication to many of the unseen, but what you describe with your wonderful talent, is humanity and the loving care generated within the universal population. I enjoyed the lovely thoughts your words inspired within me, thank you.

Words come from unheard voices...
one person can mean so much......
at the right time ...with words that hold the heart..
finding out about yourself through others...
it is the human experince to communicate thought
cohesively and poignantly...
through art..through experince....
Such a warm piece lass...
there are many days in the sun
for those who follow the light of compassion and caring..
if we can only treat our brothers and sisters
the way we would like to be treated...
what a wonderful small world it would be.
Great work,
you should be
proud of this lass,
Liam

This is a lovely poem about selfless people. These are the people without whom society would grind to a screeching halt. Although 'higher' education forces 'rationality' down our throats as a god to be worshipped, it is those with 'irrational' faith that truly know how to comfort us in times of need. Their selfless devotion to humanity and taking care of others is so understated. Yet, how many times has their devotion and kindhearted sympathy and prayer met a need in our lives that nothing else in this world could have? The "ways of life" may be a "mystery," but thank God there are those who truly believe they've solved that mystery and can nurture us when we fail and fall short of their "solution."

It's not easy to tell such a heartwarming and lucid story with superb rhyme and rhythm. Well done! Thanks for such a thought-provoking read!

Thank you so much for your warm words. This is more of the snowball effect my newfound heroes have put in motion simply by showing that they cared.
I value these unmet friends like no others, they put the friend back in friendship for me. And the oddest thing happened...the friends I look at and talk to every day have stepped up their game a bit since hearing about this.
Those unknown champions of humanity's finest characteristics continue to have a positive and nurturing affect by sharing their selfless and loving natures.

A very touching poem well written my friend, the picture tells the whole story...this is what we are all here for, to reach out to one another, the great divide is merely a geographical one...cosmic connections are an entirely different matter...
The ways of life are a mystery and a mystery they'll remain...isn't that what makes life so exiting?
