Turned on the kitchen lights
In my NYC apartment
To be greeted by german roaches
Scurrying frantically about the countertop.
Opening the cereal box,
Someone forgot to close the bag properly.
Two roaches are mixed in the cheerios.

Took out my cellphone
To call a guy who used to be sweet.
I revealed too much,
And I thought it would work out.
But clearly it didn't.
What used to be five hour conversations at night,
Now have been reduced to ten minutes.

Babysitting a niece.
Harrassing and annoying
Endless energy added to rudenesss,
I just wanna sleep.
