When the loud speakers declared that Pluto wasn't a planet anymore, she cried. A choked sob attempted to wretch its way past her throat, but instead caught, and held there. A throbbing weight that would always remind her of everything that she never was, and never would be.
Anna didn't ask for this. Didn't ask for the solar system to be dismantled and torn apart. Didn't ask for a lot of things, but she received them anyway. For once, Anna was going to give something back.
That night, home all alone, she ripped the stars from the sky, threw the planets out of order, and broke them apart one by one. After all, if they could rewrite the solar system, why couldn't she?
Except, when all was said and done, Anna went just a step too far. She'd taken every star and extinguished it's light. Set the moon too far from the sun, placed the Earth too close. The perfect order of existence, faltered, flickered, and the fluttered away.
The Little darling managed to steal all the lights from the dark night. Didn't think twice about the consequences. Didn't expect the demons to follow her home.
But they did.
It was her fault. If she felt so powerful as to destroy the lives of millions, for the desecration of a planet- why couldn't she have just brought it back. Why couldn't she have just put Pluto back?
They had to know.
Author notes
A cookie to anyone who realized that this is a huge metaphor about God.
So- I'm currently pissed off at the people who blame things like Katrina or natural disasters on -sin- or whatever.
Sin is Pluto being taken away.
Anna rewriting the solar system is God causing a natural disaster.
If you have the power to destroy so much-
why don't you just put things back?
If you have the power to kill millions, to change the natural order of everything- why not just make things right...

I read this and I thought it to be a kind of unique way of seeing order...the destruction of order....the blame for disorder on this plantet. as far as the moon and stars and stuff out there like that which I am told is zillion light years away
lol...only another astronomer can speak and understand this jargon,,,so I can be told a million things............but at the end of the day after its all said and done...
what does this information on the whole really do for the average person.........
as far as I am concerned , and exucuse my french but (shit all) in fact all this does for me and the way I see our lives on and on god...on and on.....is all this stuff, is just a mere distraction from what is really imortant.....things like stars moons, plantets...........so what does this do for me...........not much....i cant challenge any of it........one way or another........proof..........well...........I am not so easily convinced and I would not care one iota of what any body would say to me about this...........planets stars......in the end horospcopes and the telling of them makes money and where there is money,,,,,,,,,there is doubt...about everything..........this is just me of course.....odd as it sounds.............this write peaked my interest so I can go on and on......neil armstrong went to the moon how many years ago........now really what do we know from this.........diddly squat.............waste of money as far as i am concerned........but I just see them from my own trusted eyes,,,,,and dont know anything beyond what my naked eye can see....for god did not make us with telescoped eyes.......man did this..........and spent zillions doing it to...and why.......hell if I know...........thanks your write did this much for me............my proposition is this..........why dont we fix what going on right here and right now..instead we insist on having our heads in the clouds well that helps thats for sure...or our heads up our own behinds.............

I got the metaphor and didn't need it explained in the Author Notes. I liked how poignant you are in this piece and I understand a lot of people here can't handle criticisms of the god they believe in, and will plug their ears, but you're right. Omnipotent beings that are said to be benevolent as well do things like this and we're just to accept it?

This is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant point. I thought at the beginning sentence that 'she' was pluto, but it was anna I realised at the end. Very original subject to write about. Well done. =)

to be honest I was confused at first when reading this through...but realize the concept of it afterward...so re-reading again it give me a much more of an understanding..reading the third time makes me questioned things through...fourth time seeing your pov...things happened for a reason...that's why sometimes we questioned it for we're seeking for the answers...
