We Are The Human Stain

Another day with a beautiful blue sky
It is no surprise, as the oceans rise so high
It only masks the pain

Life never ceases to give us wonder
This craving only turns to hunger
Only trying to simply sustain

Memories of the past, in our minds so taunt
Giving us more, yet still we want
Living life increasingly vain

Fearing it, as we watch them cry
Hiding it, until the day we die
Binding us like an iron chain

Moving forward never looking back
In hopes that it will all just fade to black
We are the Human Stain
