In an effort to leave a legacy
I left you behind

My strong and potent lover
far away from me

Surrendering to the epic forces
(surrounding us)

before and beneath the demise
of my serenity

lies a legacy
it encases me like the tombs of my forefathers

Presenting  artifacts at my feet
the spoil,
the ruins

Seeping into the unloved quarters of my mind
like the sands of time

and yes . . . I miss you
