I sat here waiting patiently
and I know this means someone will soon feed me,
but I didn't expect it to be the family cat
with eyes most evil and food that goes splat!
Well this 'ere cat don't make a very fine waiter
in fact he's behavin' like some big dictator,
tossin' these 'ere bits in my nice clean bowl
he needs reportin', he's outta control!
So I let out a cry that will get them runnin'
'cos I know they hate that sound, ain't I real cunnin'?
Two can play at this game you dirty rat
and I'll win every time, so how about that!
This smells just like what I upchucked before
this cat's been a-scrounging all over the floor,
he wants me gone cos I took his new bed
and if he keeps this up he'll be outside instead!
So this wussy cat thinks he'll get rid of me
by poisoning my food, thinks it's his guarantee,
but I'm tellin' you he ain't gonna win
this war is mine, loved through thick and thin.
So I'll let out a scream, you just see 'em race
and the fur will be flyin' all over the place,
I'll get rid of you cat, just wait and see
I'm the boss of this house, so get ready to flee!
I'm friendly enough, there's no doubt about that
but you'll never beat me in this game of mortal combat,
so play ya cards right and we might both get along
otherwise you'll be a-singin' a much different song!

Perfect poem for the picture. You got inside the baby's head and let us know his thoughts. This line made me laugh out loud cuz I have friends who actually would put the cat first. "I'll get rid of you cat, just wait and see
