First day of rain (Haiku Chain)

drought -
parched and brown cornfields
laden with worry

clouds –
dark with anticipation
while the land waits

rain –
cool drops of succor drum as
cornstalks nod and dance

    Ah, Lee, your haiku touch
    has reached perfection.
    Liking the progression--
from drought to clouds to rain.
    And the final touch, as
    "cornstalks nod and dance"

    Superb!

          Hi Aesthete

Thank you. It is very cold here but I have seen my first autumn foliage and it is simply stunning.
