18 years of age I sit
in the room. A hand
on my stomach. Hoping
and praying that my unborn
baby is healthy and well.
Only 3 weeks along. The
fear of losing my baby is
there. I am scared. Wanting
to scream out in fear. But instead
I'll just cry.
I feel like this is the right
thing. Having this baby will
be the best idea for me. Always
wanted to be a mom. Now I get
to be a mommy in 9 months.
Cross my fingers and hope that
my parents don't find out. If they do
then I have no clue what would happen
after that.
These are the thoughts of a
young mother to be.

I agree that you should tell your parents. The sooner you do, the less anxiety about it you will have later, which will help the baby and you.
I also have the fear of losing the baby. I have never wanted it so bad in my life, but now that it is there, I'm so happy and excited for it. My husband is happy as well. I'm twenty, so young as well, but here I go on the journey.
I wish you the best of luck in this contest but mainly in life.

I wish you the very best

Excellent poem. -
my favourite line was I am scared. Wanting
to scream out in fear. But instead
I'll just cry. i thought it was the most powerful. -
I was married when barely seventeen and my first child was born when I was eighteen and a half. I remember feeling so happy about it, and having thoughts similiar to yours... except of course I wasn't concerned about my parents knowing... they were happy about it, too.
Congratulations and I wish you and your baby all the blessings and joy in the world. You're going to be a good mommy, I can tell
You've written a very nice poem and I wish you best of luck in the contest

Oh wow. If this is true I just want to say congratulations. I was 18 when I had my first and she is the light in my life when everything else looks dark. Children truly are a blessing. Good luck hun!

What a beautiful write...
the thought of becoming a new mother is overwelming...
it always is,
no matter how many times you have already become one
it is important though...
that you do tell your family,
as you grow with your child you will learn more and more
that it is family... that's what life is about
that's what you want to instill in your children
It is hard to tell them
and the response may be harsh...
I wish you all the best

a beautiful piece. very well written, filled with emotions of motherhood---especially at such a young age. to be quite honest, no woman is never truely ready to be a mother. you could have all the books and read them all, go to every class, and there still would be something that will make you stutter.
i also agree with PassionsPromise. you should tell your family. whether or not the father is involved, your family is an important group in your life and you should tell them. you can use all the help and all the love you and your baby can get. i pray that your baby is born happy and healthy.
good luck with your baby and telling your family!
thanks for entering the contest! i wish you much luck!
by the way, i love the winnie the pooh background....my son loves tigger
