Every Day

 

Every day is a blessing to me

when I awaken you are still here

awake and doing something

I am so afraid you will go while I sleep

I stay up as late as I can

just to watch you and make sure

you are alright

I know you could go while I am sleeping

but I would hear you, I think

You could not take your last breath

with out me hearing you

I am so afraid of the day I am left alone

we have been together so many years

we don't even have to talk

I try to understand what you are

trying to tell me

but some times I just can't work it out

my heart breaks every time you try so hard

that you cry

I know your mind is clear, you just can't

communicate and you are weak

before I go to bed tonight I will make sure you

are sleeping

when I retire I will pray as I do every night

that I will be blessed again tomorrow

    Mz Ruby: we pray with you......may God have mercy.....relieve your husbands suffering and your pain......its hard I've watched a love one go slowly of impending death.......the anguish is unbearable......I know you don't want him to go.....but, sometimes its best to leave it all in God's hand....he'll be at peace with his lord and savior...........no more suffering.......this is a well-written piece....I applaud you being able to share your pain......with the AP family........love peace & harmony
