    Well lets see

Under seventeen syllables, a vivid and really nice image embedded inside of the 'ku, a strong and clear AHA-moment, a wonderful play on words and in fact a nice little write to think a little bit on it...

I like this one, a lot actually You truly did a magnificent job with this one...

Thank you for entering, I wish you the best of luck

    deleightful

ah andrew - what a great moment you have captured in this haiku...

the first line is in quotation marks, which implies that you (the poet) heard this question being asked. you see the snowdrops nodding and they give an answer to the question. it is often obvious that it's raining. it seems to me that the people are in the garden. is the rain very slight, almost misty? it makes me wonder...maybe it's a rhetorical question...
sometimes a haiku is abvious stsraight away - sometimes it sneaks up on me later...i enjoyed pondering on this one.

i enjoyed this...the juxtaposition of raindrops and snowdrops is very subtle...nice work, my friend.

all the best in the contest,
    myron.

Yes, I agree this is perfect, for what I know of haikus, this seems to be a wonderful example. The image here is sharp, I am learning all the time with great teachers as yourself. Sweet!... Good luck! Diane

Well the first word that comes to mind is perfect - then I think "damn him. Why can't I write something like that?"

Nicely done, Andrew. Great image to read first thing in the morning -- especially when I'm in the mood for rain and it's sunny out right now. Very enjoyable!

I love the image this sends out, the snowdrops nodding as each droplet of rain touches their heads, wonderful imagery, it is a while since a haiku I have read has sent out such a wonderful message.

    Take care

I loved this. How you had them answering, when it's simply the rain hitting them to make the droop for a moment, being the nodding. Very imaginative, well written too.

I love this, Andrew! You personified them excellently. I could almost hear them giggle their reply to you That's exactly why I chosed the snowdrop for my acrostic. They are so unassuming and shy. A few of my neighbors planted them with crocuses. You see the bright loud colors of yellow and violet of the crocuses before you see the snowdrops... they look like they are shyly looking at their feet, while their extroverted friends are ready to party .

    Hi Andrew:
I have never seen snowdrops. But I guess it would have to be wind, rain or both. LOL. Excellent Haiku. Thanks for the opportunity to read it. Bill
