press your weight
down
on me. push and push and
push,
i want you to take me with you,
because i want someone to be with me when i die too.
--
you were not meant to ride lions
into oblivion
without telling me first,
you laid down,
and they snipped at your electrical
impulses and stored your organs
in a jar. and then you were gone.
your skin is chalk and charcoal and my
thoughts are dislocated from my mind,
i can't quite open my mouth
wide enough to breathe,
or to scream.
i'm writing in simple sentences to stop
paradoxical feelings running out and landing
in puddles of aquamarine and pearl ideas.
--
your obituary will read something like,
he
was
loved,
but he never ever ever
waited.
i'm tired of being left behind.
Author notes
nothing.

Excellent work. I especially liked these bits:
'you were not meant to ride lions
into oblivion
without telling me first,'
'your skin is chalk and charcoal and my
thoughts are dislocated from my mind,'
