cuddled up in a ball

red rimmed eyes
tear streaked face
no one ever sees her
she's all alone

in reality she is surrounded
people who love her
crowded around
worried faces swim through her vision
cuts appearing on her wrists
blood slips down her arm like syrup
she can't remember how they got there
veins lose precious blood
as she looks on in 3rd person
she wants to scream
“leave me alone!”
but she can't leave herself
she starts to talk
to her only friend
herself
in this alternate reality
she's all alone
