Hushed Voices

Vanilla coated emotions twinkle brightly
within a heart thirsting for release,
mellow cantlets of long standing desire
have no hope of eventual absolution.

My entity is no longer my own,
I reach out to the cerebral wisdom
once holding me together,
only to find an echoless voice
falling to deaf ears.

They have returned once again
on cue as always.
I can hear their silent banter
and feel the chill of their intent.
I am the nourishment of choice tonight,
the guest of honor

yet...

only a pupil of their design,
and my imagination.

Allow the banquet to begin.
The main course is

me...

as always...

The eelment of the banquet is me! Speaking from experience, our minds do play some evil roles in our lives at times.

    Great penning!

Much to think about with this poem, John. I must admit that I was lost until I read your notes. After reading them, the whole poem took on a new light and focus. A pleasure to read. Rose.

Very strong, powerful imagery for the reader. I'm torn by this one, on one hand it speaks to desire; on the other to selfish indulgence...but throughout it speaks of the mystery of lonliness. I love it, it makes me go hmmm.

    Wow

You know knowing it isn't an addition you have makes this poem more awsome. I think it is harder to write from a prospective you haven't seen believeable and you do it wonderfully here. Great job!
