One slip of the leash...

Little lion cub
beware the eyes of the father
I told her.
I told her and
spilt old milk on a supposedly new page

Lion cub, I said
his eyes are dull from
the choke of the collar
but don't be fooled
don't be fooled

One slip of the leash and
He'd eat you alive
I said

And awoke the anger
of the lion tamers

We've got it under control
they say

But I say
you cant ever tame a lion.

Author notes

A dangerous man lies beneath those cold eyes, and I cant be sorry that I told her.

Oh I like this. It has a chill running through it and yet it's quite sweet in tone. Very clever Ms Sarah, very clever. Thank you.
