He Talked About The Moon

He talked about the moon as if he'd been there,
His eyes lit up like Christmas lights and then,
He told me that the fields of Mars were frozen,
And I listened ,so in love I was with him.
He told me that the desert sang with magic,
That the light was purple just at four o'clock.
He talked of rain just streaming in Vienna,
I listened and I begged him not to stop.
Then he told me that I was his precious darling,
That my eyes were planets lost in orange time...
That my voice was like a bell from lands of magic,
He said ,please travel with me and be mine.
And I sold my everything to walk beside him,
Closed my lovely house on passion's  whim,
Waited in the airport drinking coffee,
Pacing and believing so in him.
He never met me and my heart is broken.
I was sure he'd bought the moon and stars for me.
He told me starry lies and I believed them,
My eyes were blind ,I found I could not see.
