falling, falling

falling, falling
star...
flying through the blinding, magnificent
light, but
full of dark,
dark

I am
falling, falling
slowly, unsteadily,
until there's nothing,
not anything left

the leaves are
falling, falling
drifting from shelter
from the high,
higher
branches of the Oak

falling, falling
down, low
can't get up,
gravity, weighing me to the ground,
ground

falling, falling
forever,
will somebody
one day,
catch me,
find me?

Author notes

I wrote this one day when I came home, and I just broke down. I needed support. As I looked through my phone contacts, it dawned on me that this really never ends...

So... what did you think?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

This is really beautiful and melancholy. I really like the lines:
    "the leaves are
    falling, falling
    drifting from shelter
    from the high,
    higher
    branches of the Oak".
    Nice job with this.
