the stars explode
such beautiful sounds
the weeping and wailing
of catherine wheels of pity
images of photogenic lies
saying the moments of the future
the living fate of kissing doves
the rose petals fall from darkness
the stars explode for the lovers
letting them watch the explosions
minds combined in a moment of glory
but the glory is well deserved
watch the stars explode

Beautiful. This reminded me of my daughter and her husband when they first got married. Each time I saw them together, I could see fireworks surrounding them.

God, don't get me started on firework night (bang. bang. bang. someone fetch me some very loud music please...). But I thought this poem was excellent. There were some lovely phrases like 'images of photogenic lies' and 'catherine wheels of pity', and all the imagery made it a very enjoyable read.
But the best day of the year? November 6th.
