The Punishment That Was Not

Some may call it the silvery lining
Or at the least a not so punishment
secretly hoping that you are dying

So see I’m the one who isn’t crying
Guess what, it isn’t my turn to repent
Some may call it the silvery lining

I’ll never get up, to begin pining
The day has begun, the first package sent
secretly hoping that you are dying

So what if you think you catch me lying
Why your preoccupation with nonsense
Some may call it the silvery lining

You can not predict short of divining
It’s too bad your best efforts have been spent
secretly hoping that you are dying

You left your soul behind by signing
And in my life, you’ve barely made a dent
Some may call it the silvery lining
secretly hoping that you are dying
