Aye, I lived to be a blighter and a rogue,
a scoundrel and a ne'r-do-well, yo ho.
'Twas a pirate ship that sailed me,
and me vessel never failed me.
Aye, I filched her from a cowardly soul.
'Twas a cannon ball that shook me,
blew to smithereens me hand,
so I wore a shiny hook, 'tis so!
A capn's gun took out me peeper,
so I sent him to his keeper,
now he's rottin' in the sea below.
Out to slay this fine freebooter,
jack tar struck me with his shooter.
Aye, me pirate's blood he spilt. It did flow,
on the poop deck where it splattered,
what the L, it didn't matter,
fer the blighter killed me dead, 'tis so!
Now around me bones that rattle,
hang the pirates garb for battle,
for me ghost still pillages for booty.
And me smokin' gun still slays em,
as me crew stirs up some mayhem,
swillin' rum, just the maties and me.

You've done great with this pirate piece. From beginning to end I enjoyed the rhythm and flow. Loved this stanza

hang the pirates garb for battle,
for me ghost still pillages for booty.
And me smokin' gun still slays em,
as me crew stirs up some mayhem,
swillin' rum, just the maties and me.
just the maties and me. Great last line, good luck in the contest.

I was singing this little sea shanty the whole way through. A great tale you wove for the fate of the pirate you chose
I really liked the feel of this and could hear the pirate growling it out perfectly
Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest! -
Aaaarrrggghhh, Matey. Avast ye landlubbers. Bring me a spot o'rum afore I have ye keelhauled.
What a grand, elaborate answer to the contest prompt this is, Poet. Good luck in the contest, my Friend.
