As life unfolds it seems like we have lost our innocence
They warned us without a doubt that time would come to end
Living day to day as the match lights, the fire consumes
We would not listen as they seemed to speak empty words
Now we look around and see a choice before us is provided
I’ll see you when the crystals of snow come dancing down
Blinding us while wandering in this winter wonderland
When did our lives get so complicated, so abbreviated
Whispers warn from the stars so far above still feeling so close
Brother hating Brother, Father trying to warm the sides so divided
As the rain comes pouring down, mixing with tears of pain
There is still a dream less spoken, A life waiting to open
The more I think about it, the more I feel like I am wrong
The price we pay as we make it through another day
Less we look up and and yield to the one who has presided
Given to me, this vision, yet waiting for you to show me a sign
If I only had the will to wait for more than just a little while.
So many than just a few complications in this misdirected life
Too much to let compete with my undying pride
Eyes wide shut, arms raised, Finally feeling as if I am guided
What did you think

I think the loss of innocence just occurs naturally as we strive to build our lives in a better way, in order to prosper. With the onset of wisdom, it returns to us with its beguiling smile, not angered by our neglect but happy to have returned. Well done, Poet.
