He is talking in his sleep
While the rain drums on the window
I dove in much too deep
but I am cradled by the undertow
~Time keeps passing, I've stopped pacing
~No more guessing, it's all wasted
~It would be a blessing and I can wait
~For it
My soul dives into inner peace
When we're driving in the car
I trust him at any speed
and we can never drive too far
As the rain dances on the windshield
suddenly I can clearly see
That if he wanted me for real
being with me would make him happy
-It wouldn't be convenient
-he would go out of his way
-As long as his caring is lenient
-I guess that I can wait
~Miles keep passing, but we're not racing
~Nothing's pressing, there's no chasing
~He's a blessing and I can wait
~For him
For now
Nothing seems to push either one of us
even halfway into obscurity
Maybe someday, it's you and me
But until then, or if never at all
I listen to him talking in his sleep
While the rain drums on the window
Anyone knows love can sweep
anyone of their feet and whoa
Here I go
~Some progressing, some retracing
~I keep getting lost in his face
~148 days later
~I still feel the same
~He's a blessing
~Slowly washing me away
-It wouldn't be convenient
-he would go out of his way
-As long as his caring is lenient
-I guess that I can wait
~148 days later - 148
~Sometimes I wish I never met him
~but it's 148 days too late
While the rain drums on the window
I dove in much too deep
but I am cradled by the undertow

Author notes
Because the structure isn't necessarily predictable and the chorus changes a little every time, I decided to mark the chorus lines with a "~" before them to make clear they are supposed to break the verses. The bridge is marked with "-"

This is an impressive lyrical piece that could easily become a song. Have you already written the music to it? If so, that would make it even more impressive. Well done, Poet.
