They weren't dealing the racism directly...
I was.

They weren't tied in the lies...
I was.

They weren't there when you needed someone the absolute most...
I was.

They weren't going through a drought...
I was.

They weren't wrapped in all the fighting...
I was.

They weren't feeling all the broken hearts...
I was.

They weren't witnessing all the failed effort...
I was.

They weren't the one you loved...
I was.

They weren't the angel of my life...
You were.

I tried...but still whatever I did wasn't good enough...I don't know what more effort you want and how you expected me to never ever get upset...that isn't fair...

Please...don't compare me with 'him' or anyone else you meet...they weren't there through the day-to-day...they didn't push like we pushed each other...you didn't test each other's patience like we did...they didn't try to persevere for you like I did...they didn't keep coming back after each and every 'no'...

It just wouldn't be a fair comparison...
