Today I look around me,
Many troubled things I see.
People facing obstacles,
No longer living free.
Jobs are getting scarce.
The government wants control
Of insurance and economy,
Its power to extol.
To even buy a loaf of bread
You must take out a loan,
No one willing to take a stand,
Just sit around and moan.
Thinking of tomorrow,
The one way I've learned to cope,
Trusting in Gods promises,
He brings sweet peace and hope.
Author notes
Faith and hope we should always have.

I agree with you.. its so hard out there, it scares me to even grow up and go to college and begin to raise a family.

RIGHT ON!
Great observation, very astute, leading to a rational and righteous conclusion.

Today is worser than yesterday, what will be the state of our tommorrows? What you said is painfully true. everything is getting scarce and scarce every moment. But deseases and misery are prevailing. What can we do, except to trust Him and follow the right path?
Lovely poem....I like it.

I really love this stanza. It brings the write together nicely at the end. You've done a great job with this. Keep up the great writing.

Wow isn't this the truth. Oh this poem is written so well and is so true to the way our economy is and is going. Yes thank goodness we have the Lord and boy our Country needs to get back on track with Jesus like how our Country was founded in the first place. With the foundation of God and faith with great respect to Gods Word and even Prayer in the schools. Oh it just gets worse and worse. But like you said in your last stanza we have to lean on Gods promises for sure and yes it does bring us an inner sweet peace and hope. What else is there? There isn't anything else. Thank goodness the Lord give us a peace which passeth all understanding. Just loved this poem. Thank you for sharing.
Wishing You Many Blessings,
Much Love Always,

"To even buy a loaf of bread" to me that line's extreme yet set this whole piece alight. Scary! Yet and still the climax put those fear afar. Wonderful!
