Lost In Redemption

Keeping me at arms length
Pushing me further away
Head is spinning like the world
Catching the light as it flares and fades

Tied up in knots over you
Tripped up and hog-tied
By half truths and full lies
I have been sacrificed just for you

I'm lost in redemption
Damned for all time
Lost in the clock work
Ticking away in my mind
No hope or glory
I stand here alone
Sensing no victory
Fractured reflections undone

Smoky reminders
So clearly forgotten
Questioning our intentions
Without answers to hear
Held in the moonlight
Where hope slowly died
So much sadness and sorrow
Pent up deep inside

Watch out for tomorrow
As the night comes to an end
Touch me forever just one more time
Leaving traces for me here in my mind

    nicely done

good luck to you in this contest...i found these words to be most enjoyable:
    I'm lost in redemption
    Damned for all time
    Lost in the clock work
    Ticking away in my mind
    No hope or glory
    I stand here alone
    Sensing no victory
    Fractured reflections undone

The biggest falsehood we experience, I believe, is in thinking hope has perished. It has not - we have only turned our backs on her essence. Still, as the saying goes, there can be no shadows without the presence of light. Perhaps we need only turn another time in order to find it again. Good luck in the contest, my Friend.

Very good imagery specually in the lines "Tripped up and hog-tied by half truths and full lies" and "Lost in the clock work ticking away in my mind." I love your poem and it goes very well with your song choice. Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest!
