My Ray

The sun reflects a billions or rays,
To spread golden light through every day,
Shining down on land and sea,
Shining down on you and me.

I caught a ray once in my hand,
And let it skip across the sand,
Then it fluttered high into the sky,
And I could see it wave goodbye.

The sun was slipping from its place,
I saw my ray join in the race,
It flew across the twinkling sea,
Flashing itself just for me.

The ray then met with all his friends,
I watched as my the sun did descend,
The rays turned orange, pink and red,
And I headed home to go to bed.
