Winter Dream

In the midst of winter fall
I want to be the reason for your warmth
As the hearth permeates a glow
And eyes attune to a locked gaze
Arms entangled like tinsel wrapped around trees
Your lips parting with the greatest of smiles
As you whisper into the smallest zephyr

“I love you”

Alas, dreams are a funny torture.
