A Heart in Anticipation

Raged by succession of misfortunes,
this heart is no longer flabbergasted;
it has taken so much of darkened soot,
that no filth can tarnish it any more.

While disoriented and in complete dismay,
it’s still reflecting on the preferences;
now that the worst has already descended,
the expectations are growing for brightness.
