Breathless

Blonde hair cascading down
splashing across her shoulders,
strong blue eyes sparkle
her smile makes me notice ...
she tilts her head and our eyes lock ...

her smile broadens as does mine ...
I approach, reach out to take her hand in mine

we briefly speak without words ...

then her gaze drops as we shuffle awkwardly

positioning ourselves beside each other

our heads bow as the prayer is spoken by all in the circle of joined hands.

Holding hands tightly,
more is said in clasped hands as mouths speak a prayer ...
it ends, a final mutual squeeze ...

our hands separate, we each look away, moving off...

breathless

Thank you for your comment. However, no, I have not shown her this write, nor do I think I will.

This is a sweet poem that overflows with tenderness and affection for that special someone. I would hope that you've shared it with them, as well. For who among us would not be deeply touched by the sharing of a poet's heart?
