                    the look of terrified anguish

no doubt their hands were lost in yours

lost in the comparison
lost in the madness

                    lost forever

does an angel lose the glimmer in their stare as evil steals their soul
the same evil that stole their innocence

                  their child hood

                  their laughter

did the bible burn your hands as you read

                  a pathetic bid for redemption
                  for salvation
                  undeserving forgiveness

return to me my angels
return to me my innocence

return me to me

take away my memories
take away my misspent youth

                remove these horror filled slumbers
