There is peace in my heart today
There is a sense of belonging
A sense of love
A touch of kindness
And a kiss of love

There is peace in my heart today
For I know some things are not worth looking for
There may be a truth somewhere down the line
Somewhere, the truth I long for is hiding
But I know I am at peace today
For some things must be let loose
Some things are better hidden

There is peace in my heart today
Because I know I am a child of God
I know I am a sinner
I know I am unclean
But I made a promise
And that I will keep
To walk right
To do right
And my heart is at peace

There is peace in my heart
Because my future is about to burst open
Into it I walk not with fear but love
Not with tears but smiles
My heart is at peace
For I have a Lord above
And a love by my side
