Tight blue jeans and a cowboy hat,
a cocky look to go with that.
Standing room only, he
graces the doorway next to the bar.
I watch him from across the room
more than a little interested.
He smiles back at me.
Out of place among the hip hop enthusiasts
a fish out of water, like me.
Too shy to ask him over,
a girlfriend of mine goes over and tells him
I want to dance with him...
don't you hate it when they do that?
He tells her I will have to wait for a slow dance
and he moves to another spot right in front of my table
like I'm right here...if you want me, come and get me!
Facing the dance floor, he turns around occasionally to smile at me
but never comes over.
I keep expecting him to.
My friends are nudging me, whispering
and making me feel very uncomfortable...
Invite him over!
I'm dying a thousand deaths from shyness
but, I want to... I really do!
oh Dang, he's leaving!
Guess he's as shy as me.
What did you think

A very good view of a social situation from a woman's perspective. Imagine how many missed opportunities are out there because people were too shy. Enjoyed it!
