Clothed in royal fur
with penetrating eyes;
scanning his domain
from beneath the golden boughs
No one can deny his presence
or hope to hide from his gaze;
all are subject to the alpha male
and shake at the proud howl
The pack follows loyally
each taking their given place;
none seizing a chance at deposing
the king of the clan who rules now
Clothed in royal fur
with penetrating eyes;
scanning his domain
from beneath the golden boughs

I really enjoyed the royal fur part:
Clothed in royal fur
with penetrating eyes;
scanning his domain
from beneath the golden boughs
Very touching and means a lot to me. You did a wonderful job with imagery and metaphors and flow. Great take on the prompt. Good luck in my contest and have a wonderful night. Thank you for entering.

Wow!
Something I dashed off before bed for you & it won me a Silver?

See how far love can go?
I'm so glad you liked this. I enjoyed writing it & was surprised at the outcome myself. At first when I saw your contest I wasn't inspired by the pix, but when you gave me a personal invite that made all the difference!
