Can I hear an angel’s cry?
It was just a lovely lullaby.
I do not have enough tears to cry.
It was just a lullaby.
Here is a prayer to close your eyes.
Try to dream of reasons to despise.
Monsters stalk the dark and cold.
Empty rooms shade more crimson and gray.
And still…as I open the window you are there.
It was just a lullaby.
Why does it hurt so much to lie?
Love your blessing and I accept it.
But now…as rain falls like tears you suddenly disappear.
So sleep…little unspoiled angel.
I won’t let the monsters find you.
It was just a lullaby.

I think a mothers' first instinct is to protect her child. Or, it should be. This is a very vivid and descriptive write of that feeling. Very good.

awww so sweet- mother's love is unmistakable and strong. Well written and felt deeply. Sometimes it is hard to tell the children its all going to be okay when we don't feel it ourselves- but as long as you are by your treasure's side- then everything WILL be all right. <3

I believe a child and mother has a bond no one has the right to sever. I mean sure sometimes there are circumstances where it is necessary but it should be the last resort. A child is our greatest gift in this life and someone who we have to be completely selfless to.
I hope that sounded right. I am glad to know you hold the same values as do I regarding our greatest treasures. XD

I think in the second to last line "they" was meant to be "the", other than that I wouldn't change a thing about this. You did a great job with this. Thanks so much for sharing this here and good luck in all you do.
