Battles won, as we fought through the fire
Though fire stood chanceless, against your ocean
Twas' defeat of electricity, where your strength was awoken
A Totodile with faith, and I chose you to be mine
A croconaw growing into a Pokemon so divine
A Feraligatr you became, when I needed you most
When Team Rocket wished to claim you, as we battled evil ghosts
The end of our journey, as Red waited for our arrival
You took them all out, with no potion or revival
In celebration, I threw our world into the sky
As the gameboy hit the air, was when all memory of us died
....CRAP! I LOST ALL MY DATA!

Lol. This is a true story. I raised my Feraligatr to level 100, battled Red at the end of the game, got excited, threw my Gameboy into the air, and forgot to catch it..My entire game started over from the beginning. 
Played it through again. Same thing happened. Think I'd learn, right? xD

It's a bummer to be you. I used to play Pokémon Red (talk about old school).
