Slander; How it All Turns Out

That was not me back there and then
For I could do no such thing
And even if you asked me too
A lady shouldn’t spill her secrets

I’ll let you talk all you like
A free country this is
And your words are not what hurts the most
It’s the malice on the inside

I can take all that you’ve got
Because you haven’t changed
No growth of spirit, mind or body
Will ever match me

I claim no modesty or pity
Nor do I resign
To let you bring me down a bit
With your fiendish lies

Truth can linger in the flesh
But the mouth is where it dies
And like any other poison
It will cause your demise

For I can stand here unforgotten
Changed like I am now
Looking like a different person
Knowing how it all turns out

I would like your thoughts
